I’ve always been a big fan of Japanese skincare and cosmetics, and my initial trial with this company has proven to be an excellent experience 😀

As a primary introduction to this line, I purchased this liquid foundation (all-seasons), along with a cream foundation (winter/dry climates) as well as a loose powder. For reference, I’ve been using this liquid foundation in a rather humid (read: anywhere between 80-100%) climate during the late spring season in Hong Kong and thus I am reporting on how happy my skin is with this foundation during this period of time 🙂

After a bit of googling, I shade matched to a 202 — for reference I’m an NC15-20 — and this was spot on for me 🙂 I’ll note here that since this is a Japanese brand, the limited shade selection can be disappointing for darker-skinned ladies:

In terms of packaging, the frosted glass bottle comes with a pump and it is quite sturdy but relatively light to tote along for travelling; however, if you’re slightly accident-prone or you’re low on baggage space, I’d suggest decanting this into a smaller container or getting some sample sachets from the retailer ❤ The product itself is hydrating and light, with a definitely buildable coverage; I would say that this is a light-medium coverage  and even if one were to build it up, it doesn’t feel mask-like or look cakey. In fact, since I have super dehydrated skin all year long, I add one to two drops of my favourite ANR II serum and mix it up prior to applying it. In addition, this foundation is formulated without parabens, synthetic perfumes, animal-derived ingredients, and mineral oils, so ladies with sensitive skin can rejoice! ❤ In fact, for those of you who are ingredients conscious, here’s the list straight from the website:

Inca inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) oil*, Camellia oleifera seed oil, Argania spinosa kernel oil*, jojoba oil*, evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) oil*, rosehip oil*, shea butter*, beeswax*

On the same note, perhaps it’s just me, but I noticed that when I used this foundation alone without the ANR II, on a particularly iffy day, it can accentuate some of the drier bits on my face, in particular my nose, and it’s also there where the foundation sort of…dissipates without disappearing near the tail end of a regular work day. This is not to say that this foundation isn’t long lasting; I just wouldn’t compare its power to the Revlon Colorstay, my all-time favourite for a seriously long-lasting foundation that has stood against the test of time (and sweat, rain and tears so to speak).

However, at the same time I loved how radiant, glowy and fresh it made my skin look and feel on the days when my face was not as dehydrated — and of course, when I’d added the ANR II to it — because my makeup looked naturally dewy ❤ You can definitely make this work for a work day or relegate it to a nice weekend foundation for when you’re out and about with friends or running errands around town 🙂 I would like to note here that girls who lean more towards the glowy, oily skin type, I’d suggest using a good oil-controlling primer or base prior to applying this foundation, as even with my combination-dry skin, I looked dewy glowy near the tail-end of my work day; normally, my makeup would look as matte as it did in the morning LOL 😀

All in all, I’m definitely repurchasing this foundation based on its texture, quality and effect ❤ If you’re interested in a foundation that leaves you looking radiant and glowy and is formulated without parabens, synthetic perfumes, animal-derived ingredients, and mineral oils, you definitely have to give this a shot! ❤
