Estée Lauder ‘Enlighten’ Even Skintone Correcting Cream Review

Price: CAD60
Volume: 50ml

As a complement to the Estée Lauder ‘Enlighten’ serum, I picked this cream up while I was back in Vancouver during Chinese New Year and I gave it a full run with the serum during February. I feel like I’m ready to talk about its function and effectiveness 🙂

In terms of packaging, it is still a bulky jar sans spatula with the iconic gold screw-on lid and so there’s nothing surprising there. With a slight fragrance that dissipates quickly after application, its texture is lightweight and hydrating enough for normal skintypes; however, for my combination-dry skin, this was better suited for daytime purposes as it hydrated my skin just a touch enough before I put on my makeup; as such, for my purposes, I would prefer the Global Anti-aging cream moreso than this one as it’s a little more moisturizing than this one.

In terms of its effectiveness, I feel like the cream is a nice touch for the line and for those who might’ve wanted to try out this serum and they just so happened to be out of face cream at the time. Most of the skintone correcting effects comes from the serum and I noticed that the face cream had a slight correcting effect overall but it wasn’t enough to persuade me to repurchase it with the serum.

All in all, I feel that if one were to invest in a skincare product from this line, I would mainly go for the serum. The cream is a nice touch to round off the skincare line and its texture and moisturization levels might sit very well with some, but I don’t think that it’s a must-have as most of the active ingredients are really in the serum; I did a bit of a mix and match with the Estée Lauder Global Anti-aging face cream and it worked just fine with the Enlighten serum. 🙂
