Another sunscreen that I have on a steady rotation with my Biotherm Lait Solaire is the SpectraBAN SPF60. Much like the Biotherm one, I’ve used this on its own and under my makeup with no problems at all. The main difference here would be that this is fragrance- and perfume-free ❤ If you’re allergic to fragrances or your skin is going through a rough patch, I would recommend that you use this brand instead as it is a pharmaceutical brand that is formulated to be hypoallergenic and regularly prescribed for those who have had facial treatments or very sensitive skin. Think La Roche-Posay, Skinceuticals or Avene, only…not as expensive. ❤

Personally, I like how it’s a cute tube and it’s definitely portable for travel or just…sitting at home and reminding you to SLATHER ON THE SUNBLOCK BEFORE YOU WALK OUT OF THE HOUSE, GIRL. 😀 In addition, I’ve used this on its own for my face and body, especially after my morning skincare routine and before I put on my Kiko Skintone Correcting Primer. Using the dotting method, I only really need a pea-sized amount for my face before squirting out another pea-sized amount for my neck and décolletage.

Much like the Biotherm Lait Solaire, I will note here that I’m probably able to get away with using this sunscreen under my makeup now because it’s winter and in addition to having combination-dry skin, I also work in an air-conditioned environment (i.e. I sit right underneath it.); I doubt that I’d be able to do so once it gets warmer as it does add an extra layer of moisturization to my skin. Again, if you’re okay with the dewy look this will probably not bother you but if you’d rather not look dewy, approach with caution when applying this to your face.

I find that the product spreads easily and sinks in within a minute, which is very impressive for something with such a high SPF. I noticed that there’s no white cast from this sunscreen when I applied my makeup afterwards, nor did it leave any residue whatsoever on my clothes and such.

All in all, I would definitely repurchase this in a heartbeat and I suggest that all my fellow sensitive-skin friends to make this a staple in their beauty cabinets ❤ Long live sun protection! 😀

      Hmm, have you tried lotion-based SPF? The SpectraBAN and the Biotherm are slightly thicker than a lotion…and perhaps it might not be as good of a choice as you noted that your skin feels suffocated with heavier textures.

      If you’re not adverse to potential fragrance, have you tried these:

      – SkinCeuticals Physical Matte UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 50
      – L’Oréal Paris Invisible Protect Clear Cool Lotion 50+
      – La Roche-Posay Anthelios AOX Daily Antioxidant Serum SPF 50 (you can work this into your skincare routine, so it’s one less product to use; it’s a win-win! 🙂
      – Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion Wetforce SPF 50+
      – Eau Thermale Avène Mineral Ultra-Light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+
      – Clarins UV Plus Multi Protection Day Screen SPF 40
      – La Roche Posay Anthelios 60 Ultralight Sunscreen Fluid

      If you’re not a fan of adding an extra sunscreen before you do your makeup (if you are a makeup person or if you like to go bare-faced most of the time), have you thought of using BB Creams or tinted moisturizers that have higher SPF? That way, you get good SPF while looking pretty AND your skin won’t feel as “suffocated” as you noted 🙂

      I know what you mean; India and Hong Kong both have that humid hotness at times (and even more so for you!); an extra layer means an extra layer of stickiness. UGH.

      If you need suggestions for the BB/tinted moisturizer/foundation with included SPF, let me know because I’m not sure if you’re a makeup or minimal makeup kind of person 🙂

        Thank you so much for so much info! I will try La Roche Posay or L’oreal… they sound good!
        I don’t use makeup on day to day basis, but I have tried some BB creams, and yes, you are right in saying that they are better. My foundation also has spf, but the spf in makeup is usually low, like 15. I just avoid using sunscreen because of the problem I mentioned, but want to include in my skincare as my skin has already suffered a lot because of my bad habits!!
        And once again, I will like to thank you for being so helpful all the time.
