La Roche-Posay Cicaplast (Soothing Repair Balm) Baume B5 Review

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5

Watsons: HKD250
Volume: 100ml/tube
Made in France

Given my sensitive skin, there are days when I break out in small dry patches that slowly escalate to red itchy welts. On the really bad days, I have no choice but to resort to the good ol’ 1% hydrocortisone cream, allergy meds and faith. However,
when they are mild flare-ups, I depend on this trusty little tube to ease the 2015-07-24 18.32.58itchiness and keep the patches hydrated. Aimed at helping sensitive skin to recover after “irritative dermatitis and epidermic alterations”, this balm can be used on pretty much most dry, irritated (but not open/bleeding wounds) skin issues. It is suitable for all skin types and for children and adults; this is especially a favorite for mothers whose babies have a nappy rash. The cream’s consistency is between a lotion and a cream; it’s a solid white colour and when I’m done smoothing it on and massaging it into my skin, it doesn’t feel tacky afterwards. In fact, it gets absorbed quickly so there’s no greasy residue or feeling to it. The balm’s key ingredient is 5% Panthenol, which is a provitamin of B5. As it is an effective moisturizer for the skin and hair, panthenol cream is actually used as post-tattoo hydration. In addition, much like many sensitive skin products this one is fragrance-free 🙂

Here’s a list of the ingredients it contains:2015-07-24 18.33.41

Aqua/Water, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Shea Butter, Panthenol, Butylene Glycol, Aluminum Starch Otenylsuccinate, Propandiol, Cetyl PEG/PPg-10/1 Dimethicone, Tristearin, Zinc Gluconate, Madecassoside, Manganese Gluconate, Magnesium Sulfate, Disodium EDTA, Copper Gluconate, Acetylated Glycol Stearate, Polyglyceryl-4 Isotearate, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethonal, Chlorhedxidine Digluconate and CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide.

In addition, it’s the triple-action complete formula optimal skin recovery [Madecassoside] + [Copper – Zinc – Manganese], soothing of dry, irritated areas [5% Panthenol] and skin protection [rich, nourishing texture] + [antibacterial agents] that makes it such an amazing product 😀 There’s no way that I’m going to eliminate this amazing product from my collection; I can use this balm on my face and I have never had to worry about getting breakouts as it keeps my skin nicely hydrated and happy 🙂
